I hope all of my nature lovers are ready to geek out because Tampa Bay Watch is adding a new twist to wedding venues. You can get married and help save the environment in the same day. Doesn’t that sounds like the best day ever?

Situated just outside of Fort De Soto state park and totally secluded from the city this Florida wedding venue is a nature lovers dream. Tampa Bay Watch is dedicated to protecting our Florida eco system and put their conservation efforts above anything else. They aim to lesson the impact on the environment while creating a simple and elegant wedding experience. For example, the ballroom floor is made of recycled bamboo, the electricity is mostly run by the solar panels on the property, and all of your venue fees support their mission. If you love the outdoors this will be a great Tampa wedding venue for you because there are mangrove trees for days and a gorgeous view overlooking the blue waters of Bunces Pass. Wedding ceremony locations on the property are either on a private manicured lawn framed by the mangroves right next to the water or the open wrap around porch that views the gorgeous Fort De Soto State Park which can also be used as an alternate option for bad weather. The property includes a spacious reception area, an open porch balcony, a dock (photos only), and you can get ready in the marine lab which is home to their cute ambassador Palm; a diamondback ornate terrapin. There is also a kayak launch on property if you really want to be adventurous and get married on a SUP or personal kayak (if so, call me!). You won’t even need to decorate much because your guests will be captivated by playful dolphins frequenting the area, gorgeous sunsets, and Florida nature for miles.  The max capacity for weddings and events is 150 and you will need to bring in your own food and beverages (no plastic please!).

I just can’t say enough great things about Tampa Bay Watch. As a nature lover myself I was sold on the entire package. As I toured the venue with the Community Room Coordinator Jon, he showed me all of the great projects Tampa Bay Watch is working on and told me fun facts about oyster beds and sea turtles. Best tour ever! Of course this amazing Tampa wedding venue books about a year in advance so make sure to reserve it soon. For more information you can check out their wedding FAQ page here.
