You want your wedding to be ridiculously amazing, right?? Then why not pick a location that is ridiculous and amazing?! Destination weddings are gaining popularity and it’s not hard to see why. They are a wedding and a vacation wrapped into one all inclusive package. The best part – they could cost less than a blowout wedding in your hometown.
Choose any season you want
You don’t have to worry about the season when you have a destination wedding. YOU choose the season. If you want a January wedding, go ahead! You can have it in Mexico – it’s winter and 84 degrees in Cabo! Don’t need to push your wedding to warmer months – bring your wedding to warmer weather, and have it when you want to have it.
Invite the people you want
If you come from a gigantic family you know how hard it is to decide who makes the cut on your guest list. The guest list is one of the hardest items to decide. Make it easier on yourself by keeping it to immediate family and close friends. You can have your backup list in case some of those people can’t make it; plus it limits the worry of inviting every 2nd cousin, twice removed. To make sure your distant relatives are still included – Skype the ceremony. It’s free and no one is left out.
Enjoy your wedding longer
You don’t show up to a destination wedding the day of the ceremony and leave immediately after. It turns into a three or four day celebration. Who wouldn’t want all of their guests to be having a blast and celebrating their marriage for a few days?! Most of your guests will be accounted for long before the wedding and will be close by at your resort (or cruise ship). You can relax and enjoy some quality time with your guests without running through your reception hoping to high five everyone at least once.
Leave your stress at home
With resorts, cruises, travel agencies, and planners getting on-board, destination weddings are easier than ever. Most are all inclusive, but you still have control over personal options like colors and flowers. AND did I mention?? Many are All Inclusive. As in, they include the food and the drinks and the chairs and the tables and the epic sunset, wave-crashing scene that happens as you kiss for the first time! Yes, it’s magical. You get to hangout with the people close to you and have a great party in a fabulous location.
Have a destination wedding or elopement! Or at least think really hard about having a destination wedding. Here are some ideas to help you start – the Dominican, Mexico, & Florida. Don’t forget to book an amazing photographer to document your ridiculously awesome destination wedding too.
